Uninterruptible Power Supply

Redundant power supply for critical infrastructure.

The reliability level is defined at the concept stage: critical load, permissible interruption time, and backup scheme are determined, and then technical means are selected accordingly.

What's included

  • — Load criticality classification
  • — UPS for continuous power supply
  • — Diesel backup and automatic transfer switch (ATS)
  • — Energy storage in the reliability scheme

Transfer to backup

Supplying the load while a generator starts

The interval between a primary source stopping and backup becoming ready needs separate consideration. In some configurations, BESS can cover that interval for a designated load and a calculated support period.

Suitability is checked against power capability, stored energy, the transfer arrangement and settings. Uninterrupted supply cannot be promised without that assessment.
